Your venue sets the tone for your entire wedding. It should also reflect the love, time, and patience you have put into planning your spectacular day! I’ve put together this small collection of some of the best Minneapolis wedding venues that I think provide timeless elegance, set the scene for an unforgettable event, and, of course, provide plenty of gorgeous opportunities for those photos and videos you’ll treasure forever.
If you dream of a formal estate wedding, The Blaisdell’s historical elegance is the ideal setting. With lofty 18-foot ceilings, bright natural sunlight, and a clean, neutral color palette, it’s a fantastic venue that lets you balance classic beauty with whatever your unique vision may be!
Host up to 225 guests for dinner service in their spacious ballroom, perhaps with an outdoor cocktail hour held in the intimate courtyard. Or you can also plan a small, cozy ceremony in the Parlor.
Should you choose to book your wedding with The Blaisdell, you’ll need to choose your caterer, bartender, and lighting installations from their selected list of artisan vendors. In contrast, who you choose to design your flowers, take your photographs, and provide any other desired services is entirely up to you. You’ll also need to hire a day-of wedding coordinator to help ensure your day runs as smoothly as possible.
Leopold’s Mississippi Gardens is a one-of-a-kind waterfront venue nestled onto the gorgeous banks of the Mississippi River. Set your ceremony against the backdrop of the serene water lined with dense green forest. This beautiful outdoor aesthetic will take your guests’ breath away.
Furthermore, the entire property is picturesque and provides plenty of opportunities for you and your partner to take stunning portraits amongst trees, arches, bridges, and river rock beds.
An alternate ceremony location is atop their large deck, suspended 24 feet high amongst beautiful panoramic views of the bluffs and the Mighty Mississippi. Once you’ve said your “I do’s,” the team will quickly transform the space into an outdoor cocktail area. The area includes an outdoor ball and crystal fire pit. If you prefer to take the party indoors, the ballroom has soaring 14’ ceilings with gorgeous wood beams, glamorous chandeliers, and full window views of the river below.
Leopold’s Mississippi Gardens is perfect for your larger event, accommodating up to 330 guests. Still the venue maintains plenty of versatile space for a smaller, more intimate wedding.
The Van Dusen Mansion is about as close to a fairy tale castle as you can get in Minneapolis. Originally built in 1892, it was recently meticulously restored to its former glory with stained glass windows, sparkling chandeliers, and Persian rugs.
For a lovely garden aesthetic, trees and lush gardens surround the paved courtyard. Furthermore, the courtyard possesses romantic bistro lighting and impressive stonework. The elegantly modern ballroom is perfect for parties of up to 200 seated guests, with hand-beaded wall coverings and terrazzo floors.
After dinner, escort your guests to the carriage house, transformed into a club-like lounge with contemporary furniture and lighting. Additionally, The Van Dusen Mansion can accommodate 200 guests. For a unique experience, you can treat your guests to a progressive-style wedding, guiding them through each space. Hence, you can take full advantage of everything the venue has to offer!
Plus, your Van Dusen Mansion wedding includes all of your décor. All you’ll need to bring are your bouquets; they’ll take care of the rest!
